About Coy Barredo:

Socoro Valerie “Coy” Barredo, is the calligrapher/teacher behind COYLIGRAPHY. She is based in Cebu City, but her hometown is in Victorias City, Negros Occ.

She learned lettering when she was only 12 years old. Took a Degree in Food Technology from UPLB and practiced the course for 7 years. In 2015, she crossed paths with her original love for handwritten letters once again. From then she started doing CALLIGRAPHY full-time.
She got her first basic, formal training on calligraphy from Katrina Alana (Modern Calligraphy) in Cebu last January 2015. Eager to learn calligraphy at a deeper level, she furthered her study of calligraphy from the following:
– Modern Calligraphy Summit (9 lessons from 9 instructors all over the world; Feb2016)
– Advanced Engrosser’s Script (from Dr. Gail Madalag; 2016)
– Spencerian Penmanship Bootcamp (from Master Penman Michael Sull; June2017)

She gained practical experience in calligraphy from wedding commissions and other projects.
She has taught calligraphy to more than 200 students in Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Bohol and Dumaguete since February 2016.
